I've been out to the same site a few times now over the last couple of weeks. There has been a large Red Tail Hawk hanging around the area. I've gotten a few shots of it circling over head. It has been quite vocal, screaching loudly as it soars. Because of this, and the fact that it has been in the same area, I decided to walk around through the trees hoping to get a shot of it on a branch. That hasn't happened yet, as it is much too smart for me and usually sees me coming from a long ways off. Well, as I was walking through the trees this morning I heard some high pitched squawking coming from way up above me. I looked up and noticed the nest. I took a couple of pictures and zoomed in on the lcd panel to take a closer look at what I just photographed. Too my surprise I could see the baby hawk looking down at me. He wasn't real easy to photograph. Mainly because he was so high of course. Also because of the amount of random branches and leaves. I was able to get the shot by keeping the focus locked and snapping away at intervals as the leaves and branches would sway with the wind between the nest and me.
